The Zeta Career Academy (ZCA) is a career readiness initiative tailored to Kankakee County residents meeting either of the following criteria: (1) classified as qualified graduating 12th-grade high school/HSE students (by May 31 of the current year); or (2) high school/high school equivalency (HSE) graduates within five years prior to the commencement of the current cohort.

ZCA caters to high school/HSE graduates aged up to 24 residing in Kankakee County, Illinois, who are either unemployed or underemployed. The program offers tailored workforce development services aimed at identifying career pathways based on individual personality, interests, skills, abilities, and work-related values. ZCA goes beyond personal interests by assisting in career pathway selection through skill development, including academic/vocational credential recommendations, considerations for quality of life expectations regarding compensation, geographical factors supporting pathway interests, and providing information on credentials and compensation ranges across local, surrounding, and national regions.

ZCA participants will receive service delivery via three mandatory consecutive weeks of workshop training that includes career pathway identification training, individual career pathway selection, and career pathway goal(s) identification to support selected career pathway option(s). Additional service provisions include a career pathway assessment tool, transportation, and food service during training sessions.
